Win10 File Explorer + Fluent Design concept

First upload in literally years, and it's something that's overdone!

Yet another Windows 10 Fluent Design/Neon File Explorer concept!! #nerd!

This was based upon some very busy concept I found a month or so back that included tabs, extra toolbars and excessive windows controls. After stripping all that back and simplifying it all, I took a few ideas from various other designs.

- Black Navigation Pane - From Microsoft's Fluent Design concept video
- View bar - From insiders preview Windows Photos App, auto hides on scroll down, reappears scrolling up or at top of folder
- Menu items - The current inbuilt UWA "File Explorer" that sucks, but works

The idea is that you can see as much as possible of the content. I never understood the bulky ribbon design that came with Windows 8, and have my Win10 reverted back to the simpler Win7 style. I don't like bottom toolbars, but I improved the "Preview Pane" with details and a File History UI. The Hamburger menu button collapses the black Navigation Pane back to icons (bottom image), and the View toolbar automatically disappears when scrolling down through content, reappears when scrolling upwards. 


And for those of you on my watchlist who don't understand what any of this means, you can enjoy looking at the thumbnails of many of my more recent photos that haven't made it up here the past 5 years!!

Update: 10/01/21
- Only showing one colour style (Default - Light window, dark menu pane)
- Only showing one layout (expanded menu, hidden info pane, visible toolbar)

Update: 22/06/19
- A few different colour modes to see what dark mode would look like
- More tools displayed similar to Windows 7 toolbar/OneDrive website
- Details pane similar to OneDrive with further options integrating File History
- More space for files to be displayed
- Adaptable to adjust for screen use (touchscreen/mouse) similar to Office toolbar touch expansion
